In this month’s AnaVator Spotlight, we’re thrilled to feature Jackson. As an Accounting Manager, Jackson has not only grown professionally but has also found a supportive and dynamic workplace at AnaVation that fuels his passion for numbers and problem-solving.
When Jackson joined AnaVation 5 years ago, he brought a solid foundation in accounting. Over the years, he has transformed this foundation into a towering structure of confidence and expertise. “I’ve become more confident as an accountant and a professional overall,” Jackson reflects. “AnaVation has given me opportunities to lead projects and manage people, which has been instrumental in my development.”
A standout aspect of Jackson’s experience at AnaVation has been the array of resources available to employees, one being the Calm app. The Calm app provides diverse tools to help manage our employee’s mental health and well-being. In this case, Jackson loves using the app to help him unwind and get a better night’s sleep. Additionally, the Tickets at Work benefit has been a fun perk, offering discounts on movie tickets and other activities.
Outside of the office, Jackson is an avid golfer, a passion that dates back to his childhood as his grandfather used to bring him to the Chantilly Country Club. Jackson’s love for sports extends to baseball, with the Boston Red Sox being his favorite team.
What Jackson enjoys most about his role is seeing how the company performs financially. “Having to investigate and piece things together to find a solution is thrilling,” he explains. This analytical approach not only satisfies his intellectual curiosity but also allows him to see how the company succeeds and grows.
Jackson’s commitment to AnaVation is rooted in the company’s culture, collaboration between different departments, and employee benefits. More importantly, Aimee D. has been a significant reason to why Jackson has stayed at AnaVation. Aimee has been more than just a mentor; she has supported Jackson both professionally and personally, especially as he started his family. “Aimee has been great at being flexible to allow me to be there for my family whenever I’m needed,” Jackson explains.
Jackson describes AnaVation’s culture as collaborative, innovative, rewarding, and employee-focused. He adds that the leadership team does a great job at understanding what employees need in a company but also on an individual level. Furthermore, the support Jackson receives from his colleagues is another cornerstone of his positive experience. He mentions Colleen M. as a significant influence. “Colleen has made a huge impact on helping me take the next steps here at AnaVation,” he highlights. Her willingness to learn new tasks and quickly take them by the reins has made her a great teammate to Jackson.
Jackson’s approach to work and life is deeply influenced by his father and grandfather. “I’ve always looked up to my dad and grandfather, just to always work hard, take care of your family, and be a good person,” he shares. When he’s not working, Jackson loves spending time with his wife Jordan, daughter Aubrey, and dog Pedey. He also enjoys the outdoors or spending time by the water. A favorite tradition Jackson looks forward to is an annual family reunion in Ocean City, MD. Every July, 40-70 of his family members from across different states gather for a week at the beach. This reunion is a cherished time for relaxation and connection.
Jackson’s journey at AnaVation as an accounting professional, coupled with the collaborative culture and strong mentorship, has made his five years at AnaVation a rewarding experience. As he continues to lead and inspire, Jackson embodies the values and spirit of AnaVation.
