This month, we’re proud to spotlight Kaelyn, a Lead Cyber Security Architect/Engineer whose technical expertise and commitment to purpose-driven work embody what it means to be an AnaVator. From building advanced security solutions to mentoring interns and exploring new languages, Kaelyn’s path at AnaVation is a powerful example of how we support our people in growing both professionally and personally. It is defined by growth, impact, and community.
Since joining AnaVation over 3 years ago, Kaelyn has honed her reverse engineering and Android development skills working on a highly technical contract. Though she credits her technical growth to the demands of her project, Kaelyn emphasizes that her greatest resource at AnaVation isn’t software or tools—it’s the people. “I would say I benefit from the people here more than anything else,” she notes. For her, the AnaVation culture is as much about technical opportunity as it is about human support. “Supportive and satisfying,” is how she describes it. “Supportive because I’ve never been discouraged from stepping into new roles or taking on challenges despite being fairly early on in my career. Satisfying in that all the work this company does is meaningful, something I feel good about doing.” Moreover, she credits Shawn K. as a significant influence and sees him as a mentor, saying, “He’s probably answered hundreds of my questions at this point. I’ve always seen him as a role model for my technical career.”
Kaelyn has taken full advantage of the opportunities AnaVation offers beyond her day-to-day work. In addition to her contract, she’s contributed to the company’s Internship Program and supported research initiatives. “Even in my short time here, I’ve been able to pursue multiple opportunities outside of my contract,” she explains, highlighting the company’s commitment to employee growth and involvement. What keeps her motivated? The impact of her work. “It’s a lot easier to spend hours stuck on a coding problem when you know exactly how much it’s going to help someone,” Kaelyn says. Meaningful work and a sense of purpose fuel her dedication and enthusiasm for what she does.
Outside of work, Kaelyn is a dedicated concert traveler, often choosing shows in new cities—or even countries—as a way to explore the world. She’s also conversational in Spanish and Korean and has explored several other languages, including Japanese, German, and Russian. A hidden talent? Singing— as a skill nurtured and focused on as a younger child. When she’s not debugging code or learning a new language, you’ll likely find her discovering a new local eatery or spending a relaxing weekend in Los Angeles with friends—an annual tradition she treasures.
Kaelyn’s story is one of continuous growth, meaningful work, and the freedom to explore new opportunities—both inside and outside the office. Her journey at AnaVation highlights the kind of environment we’re proud to foster.
